Spring Exhibition 2026

The Suffolk Art Society kicked off the season with their Spring Exhibition 2026. This was held at St Peter and St Paul’s Church in Lavenham from 23rd May to the 7th June. Many of our members from all over East Anglia had paintings on show.

Sales were a little lower, compared to previous years , which may have been affected extreme weather conditions in the high 30° and then back down to rain and cool winds. Also the cost of living crisis will of had an affect and lead to a challenging year for many.  However footfall was good, with visitors enjoying the church and all it has to offer.

Spring Exhibition 2026 Favourite Painting

Over 300 people voted for their favourite painting. Jane Twyman won with her beautiful painting of a donkey’s head and was delighted to receive her £50 art voucher prize. Thank you to everyone who voted.

St Nicholas Hospice

I am also incredibly happy to say we raised £320 in the charity tins, as well as 20% commission from all the sales . This will be given to our much loved charity, the St Nicholas Hospice, in Bury St Edmunds. Once again a big thank you to all that donated.

Spring Exhibition 2026 Summary

I would like to thank all the helpers  as without you the exhibition wouldn’t be possible. And to Lavenham Church for allowing us to hold the event again this year. We now look forward to the Summer Exhibition at Holy Trinity Church, Long Melford , from  17th July to 2nd August.
