SUMMER EXHIBITION 2026
The Suffolk Art Society recently held their Summer Exhibition at Long Melford Church, with many of our members from all over East Anglia taking part.
With some lovely Summer weather, Long Melford proved to be a popular destination for visitors . Hence the Church had a good footfall of people, enjoying the lunchtimes concerts, the historic church and the Summer Exhibition in the Lady Chapel.

Once again the show was well received , with visitors enjoying the art, voting for their favourite painting and supporting our charity, St Nicholas Hospice in Bury St Edmunds. Over the two weeks, 35 framed and 32 unframed artworks were sold.
Trudy Harman won the Favourite Painting competition, with a lovely pastel drawing of a Hare. She was delighted to receive her prize of a £50 art voucher. Thank you to everyone that voted.

Charity
We were delighted to received £330 in the charity pots, for our much loved charity, St Nicholas Hospice. They also receive 20% commission from the net profit of each exhibition. Nick Younger , the Suffolk Art Society Chairman was pleased to report that the Society has donated £ 4457.57 in total, since supporting the Hospice in 2022. Nick would like to thank everyone that donated and and to those who bought a painting.
Summary
Our Chairman would like to thank all the helpers, who assisted with setting up and taking down the exhibition . And also a big thanks to Holy Trinity Church, Long Melford, for allowing us to hold the event .
We now look forward to the Autumn Exhibition at St Edmundsbury Cathedral, which takes place from Monday 19th October to Wednesday 28th October.
