Spring Exhibition 2025 – Lavenham Church

St Peter and St Paul’s Church, Lavenham by Patrick Will Baker
Suffolk Art Society have now completed their first exhibition of 2025. The Spring Exhibition was held at St Peter and St Paul’s Church in Lavenham. Around 60 artists from all over East Anglia exhibited over the fortnight. We would like to thank everyone that came along to see the exhibits and support us.
Lavenham continues to have a good footfall with it being a great tourist attraction. Although the weather proved a little disappointing for late Spring, there were still many visitors enjoying several events in the village as well as the Art Exhibition. The final day of the exhibition ran alongside Lavenham’s Hidden Gardens, which proved extremely popular.
Once again Suffolk Art Society is supporting St Nicholas Hospice, where 20% net profit from each exhibition will be given to this very worthy cause. Last year the Society raised around £1400 for St Nicholas, which they were thrilled to accept.
Throughout the fortnight the artists sold 75 artworks, which was a brilliant achievement considering the current economic climate. Visitors also voted in their hundreds for their favourite painting. Our winner this time was Tom Curtlin with his wonderful graphite painting, “Faithful”. Tom was delighted to be awarded first prize of £50 Jackman Art vouchers.
